The begining - I don't get it.

This blog came about from a series of events in my life that has led to this moment: coming to terms with why I don't enjoy sports.

I work in the gaming industry. One day, after a brief tirade about how the Red Soxs were doing that particular season a gentleman I work with stated "If you call yourself a gamer, you have to love sports, because of the rules, the obsticles, and the elements encompassed therein." I'm paraphrasing, but the basics was "You like games with rules, you should like sports."

It then dawned on me: I could care less. I always have had a problem really getting into sports. Highschool teams were so-so, College struggled, but even there the fanatisium about teams, college sports, pro sports, football, baseball, the Olympics, the men in my Fraternity were hooked; they couldn't get enough. They talked shop, bought jerseys, even did fantasy football/baseball before they were trendy (ps: I totally agree that Fantasy Sports are just DnD for Sports Nerds...geek out my friends!)

Even being completely surrounded by people enjoying the sport, Superbowl for example, 99% of the time, I could care less and would have rather been doing something else.

So, to really get into this, to really get a the heart of what makes people enjoy this, I have to dive deep; I have to commit to a team for a whole season.

The Goal:
Familiarize myself with the sport of Football
Watch every game - blog a reaction

Team:
New England Patriots (cause, like, they're down the road and stuff).

I'm not going to get into Fantasy leagues or anything just yet, but I am going to change the way I think about weekends.
